Ken & Co Property Consultants is a registered Kuching agency with a broad portfolio across residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural property. They needed more than a brochure site. They needed a platform that helped buyers find the right property quickly, and gave their agents a way to manage listings directly, without a middleman. Fis Four designed both sides of that experience: the public search and the agent backend behind it.
A property site has two very different users. Buyers want to find the right place with as little friction as possible. Agents want to get listings live quickly, on their own terms. The platform was designed to serve both; a clean search experience out front, and a self-service listing system behind it.
In property, the deal is personal; every listing has an agent behind it who knows it best. So rather than routing every enquiry through a general contact form, each property connects the buyer directly to the agent responsible for it. From any listing, a buyer can reach that agent whichever way suits them; leaving an enquiry form, direct phone call or messaging straight through WhatsApp. One click, and the conversation starts with the right person. No gatekeeping, no lost leads, no being passed around.
The difference between a generic property template and a platform that fits is in the details. We built in a mortgage calculator, so a buyer can work out affordability without leaving the listing. And we localised the specifics to how property actually works here that including measuring land in points, the unit used in Sarawak but nowhere else in Malaysia. Small things, but they’re what make the platform feel built for Ken&Co’s buyers rather than borrowed from somewhere else.
Behind the site, each agent has a secure login to manage their own listings end to end; adding properties, uploading photos, setting the details, and publishing straight to the live site. No waiting on a developer to make an update; the agent who takes on a property is the one who puts it live, and the one buyers reach when they’re interested.
The backend was designed around how the agents actually work. Their team spans a wide range; from agents in their late teens to their fifties, so comfort with technology varies a lot from person to person. We ran user testing across that range and shaped the listing flow around it, cutting steps and removing anything that made someone stop and think. The result is a system anyone on the team can pick up and move through quickly, whatever their background with tech.
Property photos are an agent’s asset, and they’re easily lifted. So we built in protection beyond the usual watermark — the platform guards against saving and downloading, keeping each agent’s images tied to their own listings. And if someone tries to screenshot their way around it, they don’t get much: the displayed images are served at lower resolution with the watermark baked in, so what they capture is never clean, usable, or theirs to pass off. It’s a small thing a buyer never notices, and exactly the kind of thing an agent does.
Above the agents sits a master admin account, giving the company owner full control of the platform — assigning agents, managing their access, and overseeing every listing from one place. Agents run their own listings day to day; the owner keeps sight of the whole operation.
Before this, Ken&Co’s listings lived scattered across Mudah, Facebook, and other platforms — everything run through a single account, and far too many properties to manage cleanly. Listings were hard to track, harder to keep current, and spread across channels the agency didn’t own. The platform brought it all home: one place, owned by Ken&Co, where every listing lives and every agent manages their own.
There’s nothing wrong with starting on Mudah, Facebook, or wherever your customers already are most businesses should. But there comes a point where the listings outgrow the borrowed space, and the right move is a platform you actually own. Ken&Co reached that point. The work was in recognising it, and building something ready for where they were headed.
